Chapter 18
Felix was going insane. The power- visions- and the words of the Valiant Twelve- were turning him evil. Seconds before he lost his soul, he sent a secret text message to his son Quinn, containing a message that could save the world from the Valiant Battalion.
Quinn’s guardian and adopted father Elias read the text from the allegedly dead Felix. Sent 1 minute ago. Elias thought: “How? Felix’s dead.” The shock Elias received from reading the message was inexpressible.
From Felix:
Read this message clearly. This is one of the last moments before I turn evil. Samuel and the others are destroying my soul. Do not tell Quinn that he might have to kill me- just tell him he needs to save the world.
This is a lot of weight for a 12-year old to carry, but him and only him can save us. In a vase to the left, I have put a bottle of Archigo Salt. Follow these instructions carefully.
First off, have Quinn equip himself with the hook and line I got in Descartes. Have him take his utility belt with him. This will be important later.
Finally, take this stack of 5,000 Archigo Bucks. You will need to go to Bersi, a city 15 miles north of Descartes. Take this map too.
The next letter contains more information on every one of the Valiant Twelve (And me) and how to beat them/ revive me. Good luck.
-Felix

Elias looked at the next message with Quinn by his side. Tears flew to Quinn’s eyes.

Quinn’s mom and adopted dad, Isabel and Elias, hugged him as Quinn poured the salt into Ember Lake. Quinn, reading the letter one last time, jumped into the portal, leaving Earth behind. Unknownst to him, a man in a blue shirt and shorts was watching him from the beach. He carried a skull chain, dynamite, and rope. The skull chain read: “Felix.”
Within minutes, Isabel and Elias were strapped to a construction crane in the forest, surrounded by 1,000 pounds of high explosives.
Chapter 20
Private Ramon was on a boat 30 miles out to sea, about to arrive at Valiant Island in Archigo. Quinn was the last thing stopping the Valiant Battalion from reaching the real world. Once the last living member of the direct bloodline of the family of a Battalion member died, they would turn immortal and be solidified. Once Felix was solidified, the whole Battalion would be powered up, strengthened, and almost godlike with godlike powers, and also be immortal, all powerful, and who knows what else. Little Quinn stepped into the boat, and remarked: “One ride to Port Skyway, please!”
Ramon remarked: “Of course! No problem!” An hour later, they were in the middle of the sea when a ferry came up to them. Ramon exclaimed: “This is our connecting flight! In reality, it was the ship that would carry Ramon to safety and Quinn to his doom.
The first sign that Quinn saw he was in trouble was that Ramon had left him. More importantly, the boat was sinking.
Chapter 21
Out At Sea
160 miles from Bersi
Quinn jumped onto the ferry just as the boat sank. He remembered part of the letter from Felix: “Ramon’s arcade games are actually the ship navigation panels. Use the USB drive from the belt to go inside the arcade game! If you can beat Ramon there, you will be teleported to his other machine in the Port Skyway Outskirts.” Quinn plugged in the USB drive. A beat after, Ramon plugged in his own.
The game was a futuristic battle game with all sorts of different weapons. Quinn had grabbed an axe off the wall of the arena and faced Ramon. Ramon brought his signature knife and glared at Quinn.
On earth, policeman Ubër Portes arrived at Ember Lake. Arriving at Valiant Island after pouring in some Archigo salt of his own, finding an abandoned arcade machine from Ramon’s ship and plugging it in, arriving in the machine, spotting Quinn and Ramon. The policeman, being an expert coder, started deleting Ramon from the game.

std::count << “DELETE ” + deleteTarget+ “\n”
Switch Language JAVA
import java.util.trap
public class RapTrap{
Public static void main(String[]args){

}
}
Ramon’s character blinked once, twice, jerked, and fell.
Chapter 22
Quinn and Ubër tumbled out of the game into Port Skyway as Ramon tumbled into the boat. Ubër turned to Quinn. “Would you be so kind as to explain all this?” He had a thick Texas accent, standing tall, and stared at the port as if it was the last thing he’d ever see. Quinn, cowering, gathered all his confidence and grimaced, showing Ubër the letter from Felix. By the end, Ubër’s face had turned pale with fear. But it wasn’t because of the letter- it was because Twaney and Twayla stood behind them, dart guns pressed to their necks. The last thing Quinn heard before he collapsed was Ubër falling to the ground, tranquillized as well.
Quinn woke up inside a narrow waterway, stone tied to him. He was going to drown where no one could ever find him. Port Skyway was fifteen miles away. Broken logs floated all around him, and the water was ever-so-slightly green. He was in the Skyway wood facility.
Skyway had a revolutionary development in using disintegrated wood pieces to form gold using a powder known as Qwato. This waterway was filled with Qwato, allowing the wood to first disintegrate and turn into gold. Without thinking, Quinn climbed onto one of the many ladders surrounding the property.
Ubër climbed onto the top of the tower, staring at the sea. Just as Quinn arrived, a man flung Ubër into the sea. Twaney.
Chapter 23
5 minutes later, Quinn arrived, and Twayla leapt from the roof just as Twaney shot a dart, grazing Quinn’s left leg. Twayla came down just as Twaney launched a bone-crushing tackle into Quinn’s stomach, both of them tumbling down the stairs and into the streets of the Port Skyway outskirts. Quinn got up first and immediately rolled into the train station. He observed the chart.
Blue line West: Morales Beach —> Port Skyway —> Gravine —>Broadentown—> Descartes —> Dourmound
Red line North: Arroyo —> Descartes—> Cabas—> Nashville
Green line west: Dalon—>Horton Hole—>Nashville—>Bersi
Quinn knew what he had to do. Jumping into the Blue Line train, with Twaney and Twayla right behind him. As he ducked and dodged, the train arrived in Gravine. Quinn faked exiting the train, causing Twaney and Twayla to leap off the train. As the train arrived in Bordentown, he saw someone pull the emergency brakes. The torpedo triplets stood in front of the train. Chuck pulled back his RPG and fired.
Chapter 24
BOOM! The dreadful sound of glass shattering came to Quinn’s ears as Chuck pulled him out of the train and into a back alley, where Lance and Xavier were waiting. Lance spoke first: “Well, we got him. Take him out, Chuck.” Chuck frowned. “That kid seems shorter than usual.” He took off the helmet and coat and gasped. “We’ve been tricked! Quick- back to the train!”
The blue line train sped off as Chuck stood, eating the dust. He radioed Kelly and Kieran in Descartes. “Target on train, will proceed to Red Line north to Nashville then Green Line West to Bersi. Luke and Hunter are in Cabas, Ion in Nashville, and Samuel in Bersi. He’s trapped. Getting on the next 3 blue lines just in case.
Kelly handed her ticket to the guard, distracting him with a charming smile as Kieran snuck their weapons through a secret informant. Kelly dropped off her bags, standing at the entrance to the green line, readying her crossbow secretly.
Quinn got off the Blue Line and immediately saw Kelly.
Chapter 25
Both reacted at the same time. Kelly shot her stick of C5 at Quinn and announced: “Terrorist Bombing, please evacuate!” Kieran stood at the station entrance with his crossbow. With infinite ammo, Quinn was being barraged by Kelly, preventing him from reaching the green line. Quinn tried to advance, but Kelly was closing on him. Kieran arrived at the blue line and pulled out his own crossbow. Quinn was stuck in a crossfire.
The green line train was about to depart, the last one for the day. But Quinn knew what to do. With one swift motion, he ran for the other side of the platform, with a whole new set of trains, heading backward. He ran for the Gray line South, heading to Horton Hole.
Once the train closed, Kelly and Kieran had lost Quinn.
Chapter 26
Quinn laughed with glee. He was now back on the green line after a quick transfer in Horton Hole. There was no doubt Samuel and Ion were in Bersi, but they would be easy pickings with the Valor sword. Quinn opened the train door and entered Bersi.
Luke strolled around the Bersi train station, wearing headphones and a Seattle Mariners shirt, pretending to scroll on instagram, but actually readying his switchblade. Ion stood inside a building outside the station with his H80-XD Gatling Gun. Hunter was turning on his invisibility and aiming his sniper rifle. Samuel was in the Bersi lake lighthouse, pointing a cannon at the train station.
Miles Smith, Quinn’s friend, arrived in Port Skyway. He had jumped in right after Quinn, thinking it would be a great and fantastic adventure. He could not have been more wrong.
Chapter 27
Miles bumped into Quinn at the Bersi station. Miles exclaimed: “Little Q, I-“ But Quinn put a hand over his mouth. “Quiet,” Quinn said. Luke turned around and gasped, pulling out his switchblade. Miles said: “Look, you missed the final message from your dad. I helped you do the task.
My Dearest Quinn-
You will also need to throw these ingredients into the lake: Silver, Lily, Mace, Copper, and Iron. Elias will pack them for you, as well as 10 decoy ingredients in case Samuel steals your backpack. This is the only way. However, if the belt and this message fall into Samuel’s hands, we are doomed.
Delete this message at ONCE.
Love, Felix
Chapter 28
Quinn deleted the message and ran out of the train and into Bersi. Suddenly, fire opened on them. Miles pointed: “Look! Hunter and Ion!” Hunter had used his invisibility to sneak up behind Miles. There was no way to run, no place to hide. Ion tried to shoot a bullet into Quinn’s leg, disabling him temporarily, but Quinn rolled left at the last second as Miles dialed 911.
Luke jumped off the roof and pulled open the switchblade, swiping wildly at Miles. Hunter readied, took aim, and shot a bullet… but it was knocked off balance as the Bersi police tackled Ion, handcuffing him, Luke, and Ion.
Quinn ran all the way to Bersi lake. As he arrived, he saw Samuel on the top of the lighthouse. Samuel jumped down and confronted Quinn and Miles, pointing his gun. “Don’t move.“
Samuel grumbled. “The problem is, if I shoot one of you, the other one will use the Valor Sword. So here’s the deal. Look at that TV over there. Who’s there but your parents, tied to dynamite on top of a construction crane? So hand over the belt and the real ingredients, or I will kill all the people you love.”
Chapter 29
Tears flew to Quinn’s eyes. Poor Elias and Isabel had their eyes wide with fear. Only one thing came to Quinn’s mind: “We can’t let our parents die, but if we let Samuel take the sword, they die anyway. We have to do it.”
Quinn took the Mace and threw it into the lake along with the belt. Miles dumped the iron, copper, and silver into the lake. Quinn took the lily and threw it in. In all its glory, the Valor Sword appeared. Samuel snarled. “I warned you.”
And he pressed the detonator.
Elias and Isabel held hands as they fell to the ground, looking at each other in their final moments. Quinn cried: “NO!!!!!!!!” And squeezed the Valor Sword. Samuel snarled and knocked Quinn and Miles into the lake.
Samuel was taking them down with him.
Epilogue of Part 2
As the last member of the Valiant Twelve- Luke- was affected by the spell, something was rising in the 13th gravestone. Felix had died moments earlier, but one final person rose from the 13th gravestone. Kelly and Kieran had married and were given a berth as Quinn arrived in Bersi. This son, baby Colin, would have one goal: reform the Valiant Twelve, better than before, by sacrificing twelve kids from his own generation to take the Valiant Twelve’s places in the world.
No one could possibly think that a kid could be this terrifying, but they hadn’t met Colin and his terrorist group the Très, made of three kids determined to cause chaos to the world.
